What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in?
A friend of mine had her daughter reading at a grade 6 level by kindergarten (5yo in Australia).
I’ve also got good friends who teach kindergarten who say that the spectrum of abilities is getting wider depending on how much training the bubs have had at home.
I feel strongly that our kids deserve the best chance they can get to love reading and learning.
My calling is to start that program in Australia. I’ve taught 1 on 1 since 2002, and I’m in the process of getting my paperwork sorted to teach formally in a classroom.
Once that happens– whoa! We might just see some changes in my local area.
The intention is to develop a program to teach-the-teachers in childcare centres.
